Foxtail Millet
2019 – 2020

In the wall-filling photo you see Mariëlle Videler hanging upside down, her body almost completely covered with the seeds of Foxtail Millet.
Small birds such as sparrows, great tits and blue tits love the seeds of this plant. It owes its name to the large plumes of seeds that wave
in the wind like a fox's tail. The work Foxtail Millet is a translation of the 'duet between birds and artist' and was created during her project
Bird Bath 2019 - ongoing. Videler created a microclimate for the birds on her balcony, with a drip shower, seeds, colours and viewpoints.

Digital print on textile, dimensions h 290 x b 228 cm.
