For the exhibition Sensory Connection, Mariëlle Videler created four large textile sculptures titled Aders. Through embroidery, linocut, and a variety of yarns, she conjured colorful forms that rise from floor to ceiling.

The sculptures are composed of small, organic shapes with openings that let the eye look inside and through them. They evoke images of roots and waterways—systems that course through bodies and through the earth—and give visual form to the idea that everything is connected.
