Superabundance is a disorienting experience of reality.

Its starting point is homo ludens — the playing human being. It is a performance created together with around 25 participants — there is no boundary between performers and audience. Following simple instructions, small, everyday actions are carried out with ordinary objects. Meanwhile, read aloud from a scroll of paper sheets stitched end to end, a continuous stream of speech cascades through the space like a waterfall — compact descriptions of existing performances by various artists, distilled to their essence and at times reading almost as instructions, interwoven with the rules and descriptions of games. From this formal, abstract foundation, an intimate and wondrous physical reality emerges: an unpredictable blend of playing and thinking, past and present, feeling and listening, held together in the actual state of being, in the now.

Superabundance unfolds within a demountable, mutable structure that invites action. It has been performed between 2006 and 2013 at various locations in the Netherlands and abroad.
